The flexo system is a solution for less complex in roller and cylinder setting. Its purpose is to achieve a completely uniform application of ink. In a flexo inking unit the ink is fed via a chamber doctor to an anilox roller which transfers the ink film onto a resilient printing plate/stereo roll. A hard impression cylinder provides back pressure/or the stereo roll is pressured against a conveyor belt. With each revolution of the anilox roller cells are filled with fresh ink and doctored by the chamfered doctor blade/another anilox roll, so that the plate cylinder/stereo is repeatedly supplied with a virgin film of ink, for uniform printing quality.

The impression and plate cylinders are constructed of solid steel/or a Nylon or Rubber Stereo is attached to the roll. Adjustment of the impression cylinder against each plate cylinder is carried out using control gauges. The plate cylinders are thrown on and off pneumatically/manually.
